Google Ads launches new AI-powered tools to help advertisers create better campaigns

Earlier this year, Google Ads announced two new AI-powered tools to help advertisers create better Search campaigns: automatically created assets and the conversational experience. Now, they launched updates about these tools.
 
Automatically created assets
 
Automatically created assets is a campaign-level setting that uses AI to generate tailored headlines and descriptions for your Search ads based on your landing page and existing ads. This can help improve the Ad Strength of your responsive search ads and show new assets alongside assets you’ve already provided.
 
Automatically created assets are now available in 8 languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.

In the coming months, automatically created assets will start using generative AI to help advertisers create even more assets and make them better tailored to people’s search queries.
 
Conversational experience
 
The conversational experience in Google Ads is a new way to build Search campaigns that drive better performance with less effort. All you need is your website URL, and Google AI will help you generate everything your campaign needs—from keywords to headlines and images. With each session, you can interact with the AI to modify suggestions and approve them before deploying the campaign.
 
Google Ads is currently testing the conversational experience with a small group of advertisers and plans to move to beta testing for English language in the US and UK in the coming months.

Importance Of Storytelling

Another story from me, but now, about the importance of STORYTELLING.

In the last newsletter, I talked about the importance of a GREAT OFFER, now let’s see how stories can influence a sale.

When my girlfriend and I were in Spain, we walked into a perfume shop that specialized in natural fragrances. As we walked in, the cashier greeted us politely and asked us something in Spanish.

We said, “Sorry, English please, we’re still learning Spanish!”

The cashier smiled and said, “Alright! Thank you for visiting the shop. May I share some interesting stories about our shop?”

💡 💡 💡 Wait! She wanted to tell us interesting stories about the shop first – not about the products, not about the current sale or discounts. Stories about the shop.

In my head, I thought, “Oh, warming up the audience!” (I’m constantly thinking about marketing, can’t help it 🙃)

After listening to the fascinating story about the shop and then the story about how the fragrances are made, we bought four small perfumes! 🙈

To be honest, we didn’t really need four, but the story behind the shop and each fragrance was so interesting that we simply had to have them.

That’s how it’s supposed to be done.

There are many factors that can influence a sale, but a Great Offer and Storytelling are essential!

Think about this next time when you are presenting your product.  

5 Quick Reminders

  1. When the account is brand new and when you are starting your first Google Search campaigns, start with “phase” and “exact” match type keywords. Be more specific with your keywords and first start with those. Later on, you can broaden up by adding “broad” match-type keywords.

  2. Add as many assets (extensions) as you can. Campaigns convert better when assets are fully utilized. 

  3. Check your Ads for any policy violations from time to time. Ads or assets might be restricted because you are using some phrases or words that are not allowed. 

  4. Exclude past converters from your campaigns. They have already converted so, use your budget to target people who haven’t. If you want to retarget people who have already converted, create a different offer this time (cross-selling).

  5. Upgrade your skills regularly. Always try to learn something new. It will be worth it. Now, it’s the perfect time to start learning GA4. We are definitely not going back to UA so start exploring GA4. Google Ads + GA4 is a powerful mix that can level up your game.
