1. There are 9 million active advertisers on Facebook

According to the Statista, in the 2nd quarter of 2020, there were 9 million active Facebook advertisers. We can see that Facebook is becoming more and more popular among advertisers, which has reflected on the increased CPM. This number is short by more than 1000 advertisers right now who are boycotting Facebook to protest the platform’s handling of hate speech and misinformation.

2. Romanians are the most engaged audience on Facebook Ads

This chart shows that Romanians are clicking 24 times on average each month on Facebook Ads. We can also see that the UK audience as well as the USA audience have 18 clicks a month on average. The worldwide average is 12 clicks.

3. Video Ads have the lowest CPC, $1.86 on average

Looking at the Fit Small Business’s report for 2019, Video ads had the lowest CPC of $1.86 on average.

EMarketer found that the average video engagement rate on Facebook is 6.3%. These are awesome results that can be achieved with an interesting video ad. Advertisers often forgot that Facebook is an entertainment platform and that people are returning to it looking for a fun time. It is not surprising that the high engagement rate is in Facebook videos, as people are more interacting with interesting content.

4. Average CTR across all industries is 0.90%

This chart will help you compare your results with your industry’s average.

The study of WordStream shows that the average click-through rate (CTR) in Facebook Ads is 0.90%. Also, we can see the Legal industry leading the CTR game with 1.61% followed by the retail industry with 1.59%. The lowest CTR 0.47% is in the Employment & Job Training industry.

5. The lowest CPA of $7.85 is in the Education industry

The average cost per action (CPA) in Facebook ads across all industries is $18.68 according to WordStream study. The technology industry is the most expensive so far with an average CPA of $55.21.

This is nothing out of the ordinary since the average user of the technology industry spends a lot more money when seeking for technology-related service or buying a tech product.

6. Every day 300 million Facebook users use Facebook Stories

Maybe it is time to change your strategy or at least test it. According to Facebook, 300 million users use Facebook Stories daily with 1 billion stories shared in a day. When you compare it to Instagram (500 million daily users), you can see that Facebook Stories are becoming more and more popular among people. Facebook advertisers often overlook this placement but it is definitely worth testing.


7. Of all Facebook users, 98.3% are accessing this platform via any kind of mobile device

Statista shows remarkable data on mobile usage. This is another reminder for all Facebook advertisers that all ads and landing pages have to be optimized and mobile-friendly. It is essential to provide the customer with the best experience while on your website.
