I’m sure everyone knows and uses Chrome Extensions on a daily basis but let’s just once again explain them to those who haven’t used them in the past.

What are Chrome Extensions?

Chrome Extensions are small software programs that let you customize your own browsing experience. People use them when they want to add additional functionality to their Chrome Browser. I think of them as my personal little helpers that help me every day with all kinds of stuff.

So, in today’s blog post, I want to share with you my TOP 10 favorite Chrome Extensions that I believe would be of huge value to you if you are a Digital Marketer.

I believe you already have a ton of them installed on your browser, but HEY, they are helping so I understand you! I actually have one that will organize all of them and solve your Chrome Extension mess.

1. WhatRuns

WhatRuns

With this Chrome Extension, you can discover what runs a website. You can find technologies that are used on the website and get an insight into how the website operates. Whether it’s a tool or service, everything is transparent to you when you use this Chrome Extension.

Most of the time I use it when I get a new client but also use it when I look into their competitors. I need to know as much as possible so WhatRuns helps me a lot with this.

2. Similar Sites

Similar Sites

Speaking of competitors, you can use the Similar Sites Chrome Extension to find your client’s competitors.

When you install it, click on the extension and a list of similar websites to the one you’re currently on will appear. Keep in mind that sometimes Similar Sites lack sufficient data to recommend other websites, so it may not work all the time.

3. Grammarly Chrome Extension

Grammarly

This one is a lifesaver. It’s actually helping me right now with this blog post!

Grammarly is checking the text for writing errors and immediately proposing the right words to express yourself even better. Grammarly is giving you feedback about writing on Gmail, Google Docs, Twitter, LinkedIn, and nearly everywhere you write. It’s definitely worth having.
I use the Premium plan but there is also a Free plan that you can use. The Free plan is totally fine if you don’t need the additional features that they offer.

4. Downloader for Instagram™

Downloader For Instagram

This Chrome Extension downloads photos, videos and stories from Instagram to your computer.

You also have a feature for a mass download. You can save images from hashtags, location, your feed or user feed in bulk.

I’m using it when I need to quickly download images from Instagram to include them in the presentation for the client whether I’m showing competitors’ posts or for a better explanation of my suggestions for future campaign creatives.

5. Da Vinci Tools

Da Vinci tools

This Chrome Extension is built by The Supermetrics Google Marketing Platform. They are making awesome tools for digital marketers and analysts.

Da Vinci Tools is giving very useful enhancements to Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads and Data Studio.
There are a lot of features this Chrome Extension has to offer. Check out a whole list of features here.

6. Linkclump

Linkclump

When you are a Digital Marketer, extensive research is your daily job and infinite open tabs are your reality.
Research can be tiresome and time-consuming so why not speed it a bit? We can all make better use of extra time.

Linkclump lets you open, copy or bookmark multiple links at the same time. It gives you the ability to drag a selection box around links to quickly open as new tabs, open in a new window, save as bookmarks, or copy to clipboard.
A Chrome Extension for speeding up your research.

7. Tag Assistant Legacy (by Google)

Tag Assistant Legacy by Google

Tag Assistant is a must-have Chrome Extension for every Digital Marketer. It shows and verifies what Google Tags have been implemented successfully. Not only that, but it also suggests improvements that can be made to your Google Tag implementation.
It absolutely deserves to be on this list because tracking is one of the most important things in our industry and you just want to be sure you implemented the necessary tags correctly.

8. Tag Explorer

Tag Explorer

I really like Tag Explorer because it’s not only showing what Google Tags are installed properly on your website, it shows all marketing tags that are currently installed.
It gives a nice overview of all the tags that are firing. I use it to double-check once again if my tags are up and running.

9. Facebook Pixel Helper

Facebook Pixel Helper

This one I use so much that it just became my favorite! We all know that in order to have successful campaigns on Facebook, proper pixel implementation and events implementation needs to be done first. So, I use it to check if my events are firing and also what information these events pass to Facebook.
Facebook Pixel Helper is essentially a troubleshooting tool that shows you warnings and errors about Facebook Pixel. It’s absolutely a must.

Since you are going to install Facebook Pixel Helper, I suppose you advertise on Facebook. Then, I advise you to check these 7 Facebook Advertising statistics as well that I wrote about.

10. Emoji Keyboard by JoyPixels®

Emoji keyboard by joypixels

This is the extension I use regularly and I love it because it is so easy to add emojis when you write the Ad copies for Facebook ads.

In the Ad level, in the Primary Text box, you actually have a feature to add all kinds of emojis, but I don’t use it because it doesn’t have a Search option inside the feature. It takes so much time going through them to find the right one.

This Chrome Extension has a Search option which makes writing ads so much easier! If you type “HOT”, you will get a FIRE emoji and many others associated with the HOT word. Each emoji has lots of names so you can find the one you were searching for quite easily. They are also adding new emojis all the time so I keep finding new and interesting emojis to use in my ads.

*BONUS* One Click Extensions Manager

One Click Extensions Manager

This one is the one I mentioned at the beginning, that will solve your Chrome Extension mess! I believe most of you have around 30-40 installed Chrome Extensions at the moment like me so I didn’t want to increase this number and just leave you to deal with them. I have a solution!

One Click Extensions Manager is keeping all your extensions under one roof. You can view, enable, disable or remove your extensions right from one place. It also has a cool Search feature that really helps when trying to find the extension you want.

Check it out and Install it. You will thank me later!

Summary

There are close to 200,000 Chrome Extensions out there that are designed and built to help with everyday work. I covered only 10 that are really must-haves for any Digital Marketer but there are also many more brilliant ones that you can use and benefit from.

They are simple to use yet they bring so much value.

Before installing Chrome Extensions, read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy of each one of them.

If you found some that you believe should be on this list, comment down below! I’m always looking for new ones as they help a lot!
